Creating a Lecture

Once you install the Personal Capture software, you are ready to begin creating captures. Just follow the steps below.

Click the Start Recording Button

Click the Start Recording button to be taken to the Recordings page.

Configure Settings Appropriately

Click the Configure button and follow the steps in the Configure Audio/Video Settings guide.

Check Appropriate Boxes

The microphone is always enabled; there is no way to turn off audio recording.

1. Check this box to enable the software to record your computer screen.

2. Check this box to enable the software to record video from a webcam.

Ensure That the Microphone is Working

Before recording, ensure that the microphone is working by checking that the bar on the side of the screen lights up as you talk.

Start Capture

Click the Start Capture button to begin recording. After doing so, the software will minimize and give you a 5-second countdown before beginning.

Pause Capture

To pause the recording, either click the icon in the taskbar and select Pause Recording or use the shortcut COMMAND + 6.

Stop Capture

To stop the recording, either click the icon in the taskbar and select Stop Recording or use the shortcut COMMAND + 8.

Edit Recording

To edit the recording, please follow the steps in the Editing a Lecture guide.

Publish Recording

After applying edits, click the Publish Recording button and follow the steps in the Publishing a Lecture guide to complete this step.

Access Recording

A recording can be accessed using the following methods:

  1. Logging into Blackboard and linking to the Echo360 section home.
  2. Logging into the Echo360 Active Learning Platform. Videos uploaded to a course can be accessed under the Courses tab, and videos published to the library can be accessed under the Library tab.
