Creating a Blog Entry

This lesson will demonstrate how to create a new blog entry within a course blog.

To access the Blogs tool, log into your Blackboard Course and then click on the Blogs link in the course menu

Opening the Blog

You will now see a page labeled Blogs. On this page, you will now see a list of blogs within the current course site.  Click on the name of the blog in which you want to add a new entry to.

You will now see a screen similar to the one above with the blog name at top.  At the top of the page, click on the Create Blog Entry button to add a blog entry.

You will now see a screen labeled Create Blog Entry.  To post a blog, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Name: Enter a title for the blog entry here.
  2. Entry Message: Enter the contents of the blog entry in the text editor
  3. Attach File: If you wish to attach a file, click the Browse My Computer or Browse Course button to upload a file to the blog entry.
  4. When finished, click the Post Entry button to post the entry to the blog.

When a new blog entry is created, it will appear in Activity Stream for instructors and students.

Instructors and students can manage their Activity Stream Settings to choose which Blog activities will view in Activity Stream.
