Blogs and Journals are two types of communication tools used by your instructor. The guides in this section detail how to post and comment on blogs and journals.
What are Blogs and Journals?
A Blog, or weblog, is an online journal where you can post your thoughts. Within Blackboard, there are three types of Blogs:
- Individual: All students have individual blogs to share their own experiences.
- Course: The entire course shares one blog, and all course users can add entries to the course blog.
- Group: Group blogs are accessible within a course group. Only members of a group can post and view blog entries.
A Journal is similar to a Blog, but is set to be private between you and your instructor by default.
Students can update notification settings for Blogs and Journals in the Activity Stream.
