Installing the ".exe" file

Installing the ".exe" file

To install the Respondus file, you will need to open or run the "Respondus4Campus.exe" file that you just downloaded. The exact procedure for opening or running this installation file will depend on both the version of Windows that you are running and the browser that you used to download the file.

For example, if your computer is running Windows 10 and you downloaded the installation file using the Chrome browser, the installation file will be shown in the lower-right corner of your browser window as shown above. To start the installation process, first click the triangle just to the right of the file name and then then click on Open from the pop-up menu.

If you are running Windows 10, you will get a message asking you, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your PC?" You will then need to click the Yes button to continue the installation process. You will also be prompted during the installation process by the InstallShield Wizard to click Next to proceed and you will also need to accept the license agreement when prompted.

You will then be prompted to accept the default locations for both the installation files and the Respondus project files--you should click the Next button to accept these locations. You are then presented with a message that the program is ready to install and you will need to click the Install button to proceed with the installation process.

Finally, you will be asked, "Do you want to install Respondus Equation Editor?" if you are going to be creating tests that involve mathematical operations and symbols, then click the Yes button; otherwise click No.

When the installation process is complete, you will be prompted to click Finish.

You can now launch Respondus 4.0 Campus either from the Windows Start Menu or by double-clicking the installed short-cut icon on your computer's desktop.
