Replying to a Discussion Board Post

This guide will demonstrate how to reply to a discussion board post.

Accessing the Discussion Board

Log into your Blackboard course and click on the Discussion Board link in the course menu.

Accessing the Forum

You will now see a list of forums in the course discussion board. Click on the name of the forum you wish to access.

Accessing the Thread

You will now see a list of threads within the forum. Click on the thread to which you want to reply.

Replying to a Post

All the posts in the thread will appear on screen. At the bottom of the post to which you want to reply, click the Reply link to reply to the post.

Creating Your Reply

You will now see a textbox where you can type your reply:

  1. Subject: Enter a subject for the post here.
  2. Message: In the textbox, type the body of the post.
  3. Attach File: Click on the Browse My Computer button to attach a file to the post.
  4. When finished, click the Submit button.

The reply you created will now appear in the thread.
