Using Microsoft Teams to Record Meetings

This article will cover how to set up, record,  access a Microsoft Teams Meeting. This article will also cover how to link a Microsoft Teams meeting to Blackboard.

Setting up a Microsoft Teams Meeting

Note: Using Microsoft for meetings and recordings will connect with Microsoft Teams only, the meetings and recordings do not sync up with Blackboard.

1. On the left under details and actions where it indicates Open Microsoft Teams, select the drop down arrow.

2. Select Open Microsoft Teams meetings.

If a Microsoft prompts instructors to login please use your [email protected] and your UT password. It will not work if you use your [email protected].

Select New meeting.

1. Add a title for the meeting.

2. Add attendees or select the entire class.

3. Update the dates and times.

4. If you are in a Microsoft Teams that has Channels, select a specific channel.

5. Type in the details of the meeting.

6. Select Save.

The meeting will appear on the instructors and students Microsoft Outlook and Teams calendars. Instructors and students can join by using the Blackboard link to open Teams and then access the calendar.

Recording a Microsoft Teams Meeting

1. Select the 3 dots for more options.

2. Select Record and transcribe.

3. Select Start recording.

The recording will stop when all participants have left the meeting.

Accessing a Recorded Microsoft Teams Meeting

Instructors and students can access the recording by going to Office365.utoledo.edu or using the Microsoft Teams app on their desktop.

1. Select the Chat icon.

2. Select the recorded meeting's title.

3. Select View Recap.

Once following how to Access a Microsoft Teams Recording, instructors can use Microsoft Stream to obtain a URL link.

Select Open in Stream.

1. Select Share drop down arrow.

2. Select Copy Link.

Instructors can navigate out of Microsoft Stream and go to their Blackboard course.

1. Select the purple x in a circle.

2. Select Create.

1. Select the Hidden from students drop down to show or select release conditions.

2. Provide a Display Name.

3. Past the copied URL which will look like a series of letters and numbers.

4. Select Save.
