This guide will demonstrate how to access UT's Virtual Lab resources from a Windows computer.
Getting Started
To access the Vlab on Windows:
- Open your web browser and type vlab.utoledo.edu or utlab.utoledo.edu in the address bar.
- Click on the Install VMware Horizon Client icon to get started.
Downloading the VMware Horizon Client, Part 1
You will now see a screen listing the available client download links:
- Please select the appropriate software for your operating system you are currently using.
- Select the Go to Downloads link on the right.
Downloading the VMware Horizon Client, Part 2
On the next screen, click the Download button and select a location on your computer to save the file to.
Granting Permission to Run
Your computer will then ask you to grant permission to install the client on your computer. Select Yes to continue.
Completing the License Agreement
You will now see the End User License Agreement on screen. Select Typical for the type of installation and then click the I Agree and Install button. After the installer is completed, click Finish and then you will be prompted to restart your computer.
Opening the Program
Click on the VMware Horizon Client icon on the desktop or in the Programs menu to launch the application.
Entering the Server Name
- Click on New Server.
- In the screen that pops up, type vlab.utoledo.edu in the Connection Server field.
- Click Connect.
Logging In
Enter your UTAD username and password in the spaces provided and then click the Login button.
