Students can use EchoVideo to record and share videos for classroom assignments using a secure and private platform.
About EchoVideo
EchoVideo (from Echo360, Inc) is the University of Toledo's service for maintaining educational video content, such as recorded classroom lectures. Students also have access to their own EchoVideo libraries to record or upload videos for classroom assignments.
Creating Videos for Classroom Assignments
Users can create videos for Echo360 in three different ways:
- Echo360 Universal Capture: Students can download Universal Capture: Personal and install it on their Windows or Mac computer to record videos on their computer.
- Echo360 Browser Capture: Students can use the Browser Capture utility to record videos using their Web Browser.
- Upload media files: Students can upload existing video files that are saved on their device to EchoVideo.
Once a video has been created or uploaded, students can access the video in their library to view, share, or edit it.
Students may not be able to access videos saved on their account once they leave the university. If a student wants to maintain access, they will want to download the video from EchoVideo and save it to another local or online location
Submitting Video Assignments
Once you have created and uploaded your work to EchoVideo, you can then add your video to an assignment in Blackboard (or other course activity, such as a discussion board) using one of the following methods:
- Using the EchoVideo Media Embed Tool.
- Using the Share option in your library and providing a link or copying the embed code.
