Managing Collections

This guide demonstrates how to manage Collection properties and membership.

Managing Collection Actions

Within a Collection, to access collection management options:

  1. Click on the Actions button.
  2. Edit details: Edit the group information and membership
  3. Clone Collection: Create a duplicate of the Collection and its contents
  4. Leave Collection: Use this option to leave the group permanently. You will be asked to confirm your selection
  5. Delete Collection: Use this option to delete the group. You will then be asked to confirm your selection.

Editing Collection Details

After selecting Edit Details, you will be able to change the title and description:

  1. Collection Title: You can use this field to edit the collection title.
  2. Collection Description: The collection description can be edited here.
  3. Delete: Click the Delete button to delete the current collection.
  4. Cancel: Click the Cancel button to exit the editor and discard any changes made.
  5. Save: Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Cloning a Collection

Cloning a collection allows you to create a duplicate of the collection.

Cloning a collection will create a new collection with the same media objects, but you will be the only member of the collection until other users are added.

After selecting Clone Collection from the Options menu you will be presented with a dialog box. Click the Clone button to continue.

You will now see the details for the cloned section.

  1. Collection Title: You can use this field to edit the collection title.
  2. Collection Description: The collection description can be edited here.
  3. Delete: Click the Delete button to delete the current collection.
  4. Cancel: Click the Cancel button to exit the editor and discard any changes made.
  5. Save: Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Leaving a Collection

Selecting Leave Collection from the Actions menu will display a dialog box on screen. Click the Leave button to leave the collection.

Once you leave the collection, you will no longer be able to access the collection and either a system administrator or a collection manager would have to add you back into the collection.

Deleting a Collection

After selecting the Delete Collection option, you will be presented with the following dialog box:

Click the Delete button to delete the collection.

Once the collection is deleted, all media associations and collection memberships will be deleted. The act of deletion cannot be undone.

Managing Collection Membership

  1. Within a Collection, click the Membership link to access the list of collection memberships.
  2. Click the +Member button to add members to the collection
  3. To edit a member's access permissions, click the Edit button (pencil icon).
  4. To remove a member, click the Delete button (trash can icon)
