Linking to McGraw Hill Connect LTI Advantage

This guide will demonstrate how to link your McGraw Hill Connect course content to your Blackboard Learn course using the McGraw Hill Connect LTI Advantage tool

This tool replaces the previous McGraw Hill Connect Building Block integration, which will be phased out on 12/13/2023. After this date, the existing building block links will cease to function.

Prior to linking content using McGraw Hill Connect LTI Advantage, please delete any existing McGraw Hill Connect links in your course.

If you are copying a course, delete the McGraw Hill links in your old course, then copy your course to the new site, and then link your Connect content using the Connect LTI Advantage tool in your new course.

Enabling the McGraw Hill Connect LTI Advantage Tool in your Course

To link content using McGraw Hill Connect LTI Advantage, you will need to enable the tool in your Blackboard Learn course. To enable the tool:

  1. In the Course Management menu, click on the Customization heading.
  2. Select the Tool Availability link

  1. In the Tool Availability list, look for McGraw Hill Connect LTIA and check the checkbox for the tool
  2. Click Submit to make the tool available in your course.

Linking your McGraw Hill Connect Section and Content to your Course

Within your course, go to the content area(s) you wish to add McGraw Hill Connect content to.

  1. At the top of the page, click on Build Content
  2. Select McGraw Hill Connect LTIA from the list of options.

Pairing a Connect Section

After selecting the McGraw Hill Connect LTIA option from the Build Content menu, you will be prompted to pair a Connect Section. If you do not already have a McGraw Hill Account, selecting the option will create an account for you.  On the screen shown above, select the Pair with a Connect Section link.

Selecting A Connect Course to Pair

You will now be asked to pair your Connect course. If you already have a Connect course, select Pair with existing Connect course, or select Pair with new Connect course to create a new course

Creating a New Connect Course

To start creating a coure, you will first need to search for the textbook title you wish to use.

  1. Enter your title in the search bar.
  2. Use the dropdown menu to filter your results.
  3. Select the text you wish to use from the list.

Entering Course Details

On the next screen, enter your course and section name in the fields provided, and then click Create Course.

Confirmation

Once you have created your section, you will now see a confirmation screen that your course has been paired.

Pairing an Existing Section

If you have an existing Connect Section you would like to pair, select Pair with Existing Connect Course and then select your course and section you wish to pair. You can now use the McGraw Hill LTIA link to link to your Connect section home or link individual content items.

Confirmation

Once you have selected a section to pair, you will receive confirmation that the pairing was successful. You can now use the McGraw Hill LTIA link to link to your Connect section home or link individual content items.
