Changing Scroll Bar Settings on Mac to View Scroll Bars

Users working on Mac computers may not be able to scroll horizontally in the Blackboard Grade Center, when the scroll bars on Mac are set to be hidden.  This guide will demonstrate how to change the scroll bar settings to show the scroll bars.

Accessing System Preferences

To change the scroll bar settings on your Mac:

  1. Click the Apple logo button in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Select System Preferences from the menu that appears.

You will now see the primary System Preferences window. To change the scroll bar settings, select the icon labeled General in the top left.

You will now see a list of options on the current screen. On this screen, locate the set of options labeled Show Scroll Bars. Select the option labeled Always and close the screen. You should now be able to access the Grade Center and view a scroll bar that allows users to scroll left and right in the Grade Center.
