Grading a Blog

This guide will demonstrate how to grade a student's blog in Blackboard.

To access the Blogs tool, log into your Blackboard Course and then click on the Blogs link in the course menu

Opening the Blog

You will now see a page labeled Blogs. On this page, you will now see a list of blogs within the current course site.  Click on the name of the blog in which you want to grade.

Grading a Blog

You will now see the student's blog on screen. To grade the student's blog:

  1. Use the dropdown menu at the top of the right column to select a student's blog to grade.
  2. Index: Use the Index to select individual blog entries to view.
  3. The student's blog entries will appear on the left side of the screen for review.
  4. Grade: Enter the student's score in the field provided.
  5. Feedback - Shown to Learner: Use the text box provided to enter feedback on the student's performance.
  6. Add Notes: Click the Add Notes link to enter grading notes that can only be seen by the instructor.
  7. When finished, click the Submit button to save the student's grade.
