Setting Up the Attendance Tool in Ultra

This guide will demonstrate how to access and set up the Attendance Tool in Blackboard Ultra Course View (UCV).

Accessing the Attendance Tool

1. Within your Blackboard course, navigate to the Details and Actions panel and

2. Click on Mark Attendance.

3. Click Add Attendance to enable the tool in the course.

This will open the Attendance Tool along with a panel to set up

  1. Attendance Values (as percentages)
  2. Toggle to create a corresponding Gradebook column (defaulted to on)
  3. Grading Scale (Points, Percentage, or Complete/Incomplete)

*Additionally, you may elect to include excused absences in calculations. This toggle is defaulted to off

Once these are set accordingly, click the purple X to close the Settings panel.

You will now see the attendance tool.

  1. Blackboard will automatically generate an attendance session for each day whenever you click Mark Attendance.
  2. To view previous sessions, click on the toggle labeled Overall.
