This guide will demonstrate how to access SafeAssign Originality Reports for instructor-submitted items in Blackboard Learn Ultra.

Accessing the SafeAssign Tool in Learn Ultra Course View
On the Content page of your Learn Ultra course, look for Books and Tools in the Details and Actions panel and click on the View course and institution tools link.
The Books and Course Tools side panel will open on the right. Select SafeAssign from the list of options.
Accessing SafeAssign Submissions
You will now see a page labeled SafeAssign. On this page, you will see all items uploaded as an instructor. For each item, you can see the original submission, the originality report, the matching percentage, and submission date.
To access a report, locate the item you wish to access and click on the icon in the Report column.
Viewing SafeAssign Originality Reports
The image above shows a sample Originality Report:
- The selected document will appear on the left with sources highlighted.
- View Report Summary: Click on this link to view the report summary
- The name of the selected item and the matching percentage will show here.
- Included sources: A list of sources will appear on the page here. Use the highlight button to highlight a specific source or use the the No sign to remove the source from the report.
- Top Sources: The sources used by the student will be listed here, ordered from the most used to the least used.
You can click on any highlighted items in the report to compare the submitted text to the original text, as well as the likelihood the text matches the source, and details about the text source.
Viewing Report Summary
The Report Summary provides additional context about the originality report, and the overall matching percentage, as well as a summary of the originality report for each submitted item.
