This guide will demonstrate how to access Student Preview mode in Learn Ultra Course View courses you are teaching. The Student Preview mode allows instructors to view the course how students would see the course. When finished using the student preview mode, the instructor can delete the preview user or leave it in the course user list.
The student preview mode is only compatible with content in Blackboard. The student preview may not work with third party integrations, e.g. publisher content.
Accessing Student Preview Mode
To access Student Preview mode, click on the Student Preview link in the upper right hand corner of the course content page.

You will then see the Start Student Preview dialog box. Click the Start Preview button to start the student preview.
Using Student Preview Mode

Once you are in the student preview account, you can now interact with the course as a student would. You can view content, submit assessments, and participate in course interaction much like a student would. The banner at the top of the page will read Student Preview
Exiting Student Preview

To exit Student Preview mode, click on the Exit button in the top right of the Student Preview banner.

You will then be presented with a dialog box asking whether to Discard or Save the student preview data.
- Discard: All data associated with the student preview session will be removed, such as assignment and discussion board submissions.
- Save: Data associated with the student preview mode will be saved when exiting student preview mode. This option is useful for testing items like groups and student grades in the gradebook.
