Blackboard provides other options for communicating with studnets. While Send Reminders is useful for assignment-specific notifications, instructors can also use the following tools:

  • Announcements - Instructors can select to send the announcement as an email. Announcements will have a new announcement pop up next time student logs into the course.
  • Message - Instructors can send to entire group or individual students. Instructors can select a check box to send a message as an email.
  • Alert Settings - Instructors can set automated activity stream notifications to students on overall grade below or equal to a percentage, number of days missed due dates, or days since last access the course.
