This article will cover how to use the send reminder feature in the Gradebook for assignment-specific notifications.
Note how the students will receive the message.
- If the messages tool is enabled, students will receive the reminder in their messages tab only.
- If the messages tab is disabled, the reminder will be delivered to students' Outlook email only.
Sending Reminders in Gride View
1. Select Grid View icon.
2. Select the link to the assignment.
In the Assessment Details right pane, select the Bell Icon.
Select Send. A reminder will be sent to students who have not made a submission.
Send Reminders in List View
1. Select the List View icon.
2. Select the elipsis, 3 dots.
Select Send Reminder.
Select Send. A reminder will be sent to students who have not made a submission.
Blackboard provides other options for communicating with studnets. While Send Reminders is useful for assignment-specific notifications, instructors can also use the following tools:
- Announcements - Instructors can select to send the announcement as an email. Announcements will have a new announcement pop up next time student logs into the course.
- Message - Instructors can send to entire group or individual students. Instructors can select a check box to send a message as an email.
- Alert Settings - Instructors can set automated activity stream notifications to students on overall grade below or equal to a percentage, number of days missed due dates, or days since last access the course.
