This article will cover submitting and posting grades while in the grid view of the Gradebook.
Instructors can use a few options to set students grades by going to:
1. Search by assignment, student, or use the filter option.
2. Select the To Do to access what needs grading and needs posting.
3. Select the individual students name to view their submissions and attempts.
4. Assign a grade within the column.
Search by Assignment, Students or Filter
- Using the text box to search type in a students name or title of the content.
- Filter using:
- Students name drop down to select a student.
- Search by groups, this only applies if instructor is using the Groups function in Blackboard.
- Search by category such as Test, Assignment or Discussion.
- Search by Type such as Formative or Summative
- Search by Gradable Items by typing in or drop down to view content items.
To Do Tab
The To Do tab is divided into two categories: Needs Grading shows items that require grading, while Needs Posting shows grades that are ready to be posted to students.
Grade Individual Student
Selecting a students name will open options for:
- Submitting grades for content.
- Viewing student's progress.
- Viewing student's activity log.
- Viewing if student's read the announcements.
- Setting Students accommodations.
- Sending a message to the student.
- Setting student's exceptions.
Grading a Gradebook Column
To enter grades for an entire column, hover below the column header until the pencil icon appears. Select the pencil icon to open the grade entry fields for each student in that column.
