This chapter provides instructions on how to add questions and elements such as text and file attachments to tests and forms in Blackboard Learn Ultra.

Creating Questions and Elements

The following questions and elements can be added forms and tests in Blackboard Learn Ultra

  • Calculated Numeric
  • Calculated Formula
  • Matching
  • Likert Scale (For forms only)
  • Multiple Choice (Students can select one or more correct answers)
  • Fill in the Black (Students can respond to one or more text entry fields)
  • Hotspot
  • Essay
  • True/False
  • Essay
  • Question sets
  • File Attachments
  • Text
  • Page Break

Adding text elements, page breaks, or file attachments eliminates the ability to randomize questions within an assessment. Question sets can be used instead to randomly display questions to students.

Unsupported Learn Original Question Types.

The following question types in Learn Original are not supported, and importing these questions into a Learn Ultra course may not work:

  • Either/Or (Use True/False or Multiple choice option instead)
  • File Response (Instructors can enable the ability for students to upload text or files at the end of the assessment instead)
  • Jumbled Sentence (Consider revising to use a different question type or using Fill in the Blank instead)
  • Ordering (Consider revising your question to use a different question type)
  • Quiz Bowl (Consider revising your question to use a different question type)
  • Short Answer (Use Essay type instead)
