Downloading Submission Files

This guide will demonstrate how to download files attached in the Submissions area of assignments uploaded to Blackboard. Submission files can be downloaded one at a time or in bulk. Please refer to the instructions on accessing submissions for details on how to access assignment submissions.

In the Assignment Submission list, click on the student whose submission you wish to view.

You will now be able to view the student's submission.

  1. Click on the name of the file to view the file on screen.
  2. To download the original file, click on the Download button in the white banner.
  3. To download the file and annotations created in inline grading, click on the Download button in the black banner.

Instructors can also download multiple assignment submissions at once as a .zip archive.

Downloading Multiple Submissions from the Gradebook

To download multiple submissions from the gradebook:

  1. In your Ultra course, click on the Gradebook tab.
  2. Click on the Grades view
  3. Locate the assignment you wish to download submissions for and click on the column icon.
  4. Select Download Submissions from the menu.

On the next screen you will see a page titled Download Assessment Files and you will see a list of students and their submission status.

  1. Use the checkboxes on the left to select students to download attempts for, or click the checkbox in the top left to select all submissions
  2. Click on the Create Zip File button in the bottom right corner.

You will then see a dialog box explaining that when the link to download the ZIP file is ready, that the link can be accessed in course messages or your email.

Once the message has appeared in your email click Download Now to download the file or click View Message to see the message in your course messages.
